One of the most prestigious events on the Lawn Bowls calendar (at least until it joins the Olympics), the 2022 Commonwealth Games are being held in July/August in Birmingham, England. Join rollUp Bowls for the ultimate preview of all of the events.

The Green

The world’s best bowlers will converge on Royal Leamington Spa Bowls Club for the Commonwealth Games events. The club has undergone a massive refurbishment to prepare for the event, with new lighting, flooring and toilets installed. The green is expected to be slow, with speeds of 10-11 seconds predicted – a challenge the Australian Jackaroos have countered by preparing slower practice greens at home.

There will be eleven events at the Commonwealth Games, three of which are para-sports events. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be previewing each of the events to see who the medal favourites are.

The Commonwealth Games features a round-robin format. The medal matches will take place on August 3, 5 & 6.
